An 8.5% sales tax will be applied to orders in California.

We do ship to many international countries. Before placing an international order, please contact us at orders@beritdesigns.com with the item name and country where you would like the products shipped. We will let you know if we are able to ship to that country and what duties may be applicable.

Since each piece is hand made to order by our design team, orders generally take two weeks to complete and ship. For custom orders, we may need to special order gemstones to match your color scheme which will take slightly longer. We will make every effort to complete your piece as quickly as possible. Many of our 'Globe Trotting Collection' pieces are already in stock and will ship within 48 hours.

Berit Designs hand makes each and every piece it sells. We are very detail-oriented and take tremendous pride in our work to exceed the expectations of our customers. Due to the inherent uniqueness of our beads there may be subtle differences in each piece. Also because we use a lot of natural pearl and shell components, please expect minor variations in size, shape and color.

Volume discounts are available. If you order 2 or more of the same style, you will receive a 10% discount. If you order 4 or more of the same style, you are eligible for a 20% discount. Additionally, if you are interested in staying within a certain budget range, please let us know so we can design something special for you within your price range.

You can request changes in length of bracelet, necklace and earring designs. You may also change most designs from sterling silver to 14 karat gold filled for a small materials fee. Please email us at orders@beritdesigns.com with the item name and any modifications you are interested in. We will finalize the details of the piece and send you an invoice.

Of course we do custom work. Please fill out our custom design form which will help our design team begin the process. We will discuss colors, styles, materials and quantity until you decide on something that fits your vision.

Use a flexible piece of string and measure your neck or wrist. Add one inch to the wrist measurement to determine your bracelet size. For a choker style necklace, add one inch to your neck measurement to determine your neck size. Add additional inches to your neck measurements if a longer style necklace is desired. Our standard sizes accommodate sizes small to medium. If you are interested in another size, please email us at orders@beritdesigns.com and we will gladly assist you.

Our 100% cotton garments are true to size after normal dying and washing procedures, making them appear slightly oversized before washing. The following sizes are equivalent to 0-3 months (10 lbs, 19-22 inches), 3-6 months (14 lbs, 22-25 inches), 6-12 months (18 lbs, 25-28 inches) and 12-18 months (23 lbs, 28-31 inches). Our pieces are made with the highest quality materials. Our silver beads, clasps and other jewelry components are made from .925 sterling silver--the standard in jewelry making. The gold beads and findings are 14 karat gold filled, also the industry standard as softer solid gold is more prone to denting and scratching. Pearls are freshwater. We use several handcut, brilliant gems and Swarovski crystals. In some cases we use sparkling glass gems to keep costs down.

All of our pieces are designed and made by hand on shore by our design team to support our local economy.

For the best results in caring for your piece, never wear your jewelry in the shower or pool as the chemicals erode the shine. Let your skin dry after applying perfumes and lotions so the residue doesn't dull the finish. Use a silver polishing cloth or ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and store your piece in an airtight container or bag so the sterling silver and 14 karat gold filled metals do not tarnish. Dry pieces with a soft cloth or lint-free towel. Knits should be hand washed and dried flat.

Our jewelry is made with high quality materials and the finest craftsmanship. In the event that your item is damaged during shipping or from normal wear, we will repair it free of charge within 60 days of purchase. Please email us at info@beritdesigns.com for an authorization code. After 60 days, we charge a $20 repair fee.

We want you to be happy with your designs. If you are not satisfied, for any reason, you may return your order for a refund, exchange or store credit within 14 days of receipt. Because we have to special order the materials for custom designed pieces, custom designs may not be returned. Washed or worn clothing may not be returned.

Items purchased in December are eligible for a refund until January 15 of the following year.

Gift certificates are also great for teenagers to choose custom designed prom jewelry. They also make great gifts for Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, Mother's Day, Birthdays, Christmas and Hanukah.

Berit Designs supports many charitable organizations by volunteering, giving money, donating products and doing benefit shows. During October or Breast Cancer Awareness month, 20% of proceeds are donated to breast cancer research. During March, 20% of proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society. Berit Designs is a strong supporter of microfinance organizations, an economic development approach intended to benefit low-income groups. Our company mentors small businesses through involvement with the Women's Initiative for Self Employment in San Francisco as well as Cross-Cultural Solutions and Village Exchange International in Ghana, Africa. We also support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Locks of Love, Carousel of Hope for Childhood Diabetes and March of Dimes through benefit shows and financial support.
